Ancestris 0.5 - Enkele screenshots
Vergeet niet dat Ancestris zo in te stellen is dat u kunt doen wat u er mee wilt. De screenshots hier zijn enkele mogelijkheden hoe u Ancestris kunt configureren, maar u zult wel zien zodra u het gaat gebruiken, dat u elk aspect kunt aanpassen. The tree view, the table view, the editors (you have two editors, one is a gedcom one, the second one is a "standard" editor), etc.
De applicatie starten
Het Splashscreen
Wanneer u Ancestris voor de eerste keer start en zelfs later als u hem start, zult u het eerste scherm, het "splashscreen" zien. Dit plaatje laat een bruiloft certificaat zien met de applicatie naam "Ancestris", voor 2 of 3 seconden. U kunt dit uitzetten.
Het welkoms scherm
De eerste keer dat u Ancestris start opent het automatisch met het welkom scherm. U krijgt de keuze - "(x) Laat zien bij starten" - op dit scherm. Dat steldt u instaat om dit scherm uit te schakelen voor toekomstige startups. Als u dit uitschakeld kunt u dit later weer inschakelen in het Ancestris Hoofdmenu - Help - Start pagina.
Dit welkomsscherm heeft drie tabbladen. De volgende screenshots geven u een idee hoe dit er uit ziet.

Community corner : a good place to go. There, you will be able to meet Ancestris users. Register to the mailing list to be inform of new releases, to ask your questions, to ask for features you would like to see, etc.
Try a genealogy example : No explanation needed I guess. 
First Steps : A link to a tutorial, (a really good handbook, but actually in french only. If you are fluent in french good ahead and download it. If there are lots of people asking for its translation, we will translate it into english).
Place management : Very important information about how to manage your places for your genealogy. The Gedcom specifications are very well defined, so you must follow them.
Migration from another genealogy program : if you don't have a program that works on the gedcom file itself there are some advices to produce a gedcom file from your genealogy program.
Modify and enhance Ancestris : great, you want to help us, that the way to go. The development web site.

The second Tab - My Ancestris :
Here you can create a genealogy from scratch. A wizard will guide you for the fist steps.
You can open an existing genealogy. As Ancestris works directly on the gedcom file itself, you have to open a .ged file (the extension must be .ged).
Ancestris can open the genealogies you have opened during your last sessions. They will be mentionned there. If it's the first time you open Ancestris, you will see the message "none available", of course.
On that tab, you can launch the Plugins manager to install differents plugins to extend the possibilities of Ancestris.
And last possibility of that tab, you can open the configuration options menu, to configure Ancestris the way you want.
Of course, all those possibilities, are available from Ancestris Main menu bar.
The third Tab - What's new :
News and Tutorials : these are a summary of the last modifications made on that wiki.
Developments : The modifications made to the development web site.
La fenêtre principale
Une fois Ancestris lancé, les fenêtres positionnées comme vous le souhaitez, le choix des calques fait, voilà une représentation possible du logiciel. N'oubliez pas, que dans cet exemple, trois fenêtres ont été mises comme visibles (arbre, table et éditeur gedcom), mais que vous pouvez choisir tout autre chose.
Cela ne se voit pas, mais au niveau de la fenêtre de l'arbre généalogique, trois onglets ont été mis, un pour l'arbre, un pour la fenêtre des rapports et un dernier pour la fenêtre chronologique, ce qui permet de passer de l'un à l'autre, sans avoir à masquer le fenêtre de la table, ni l'éditeur.

Ce menu est accessible à partir du menu déroulant "Outils", "Paramètres".
Normalement les options par défaut sont largement suffisantes, et bien sûr vous pourrez toujours les remodifier par la suite.
Certains paramètres peuvent être choisis pour correspondre au mieux à vos souhaits dans l'environnement de votre logiciel, qu'il s'agisse du déplacement des fenêtres, en passant par des raccourcis clavier, etc... Testez et vous verrez mieux ce qui vous convient.
Quatre écrans principaux sont proposés. Par la suite, peut être que d'autres se rajouteront, mais pour le moment, ils sont largement suffisant.
Première étape : l'aspect du logiciel.
Le premier choix est celui de la langue. Par défaut le français est proposé.
Ensuite, quel aspect voulons-nous pour Ancestris. Quelques paramètres sont à choisir pour l'éditeur
Comment les données généalogiques vont elles être traitées.
Ecran nous permettant de remplir quelques informations pour nos données généalogiques. On trouve bien sur la personne qui a fournie toutes les informations, les champs utiles pour les localités, etc.
Quels sont les programmes associés avec nos différentes données généalogiques. Où se trouvent nos fichiers de généalogie, etc.
Ancestris - Les Plugins
Certains plugins vous donnent des possibilités d'étendre les fonctionnalités d'Ancestris. Une section est consacrée à Ancestris et à ses plugins. N'hésitez pas à la visiter.
