Mailing List

This is the general list for Ancestris.

Requesting an enhancement, an help, can be done through the Ancestris users english mailing list. New releases will be announced there too. Low traffic.

How to register

• You want to subscribe (two ways) :

• Just send a message to:

"ancestris_en-subscribe@ml.arvernes.com". You don't have to write something in the body of your message, but in the line "Subject", just write the word subscribe. That's all.

Or:

• Just click on the Email address beside ancestris_en-subscribe@ml.arvernes.com this will open your mail client and will put the correct words in each field. What to do next? Just send the message.

How to write to the mailing list SysOp

• You want to send a message to the list administrator:

• Send a message to : ancestris_en-owner@ml.arvernes.com.

Developers Mailing List (Fr and Eng)

For those who want to help to develop Ancestris, to write plugins, to write parts of the program itself, who want to help with translation, there is a mailing list dedicated. In it you can write in french of course, but also in english.

For å bli referert, må du kontakte oss per e-post med din breddegrad, lengdegrad, navnet ditt, din bosted, og systemversjonen du har (Windows, Linux, Mac, OS/2, osv...).

For å vite dine koordinater, kan du sjekke det ut ved å bruke nettsiden Acme. Bare oppgi koordinatene i følgende rekkefølge: 63.42735 N // 10.39141 E, (f.eks. Petter Hoënig, Trondheim Norge 63.42735 N 10.39141 E - Windows XP)

IRC (Fr and Eng)

This is another place where you can speak with Ancestris users.

There, no problem, the IRC ^[1] is available on the Freenode network.

You can join us on : irc.freenode.net, Chanel : #ancestris

Some explanations are given on the way to install and use the IRC.

On that chanel there are people who can speak english, so you should join us to give us feedback, to ask for some help (if you need some), etc. about the Ancestris software.

Tip : Even if you don't want to install an IRC client, you can access, by clicking on that link, to the Ancestris IRC chanel thru the Web with just Firefox or Internet Explorer.

Webcams

Il est possible pour vous de trouver peut être des utilisateurs de Ancestris ayant une webcam, et pouvant vous donner un coup de main.

Si vous voulez aider d'autres utilisateurs, n'hésitez pas à mettre ici vos coordonnées. Au début je recommandais Ekiga comme logiciel de discussion audio video, mais vu que Ekiga ne fonctionne pas toujours sous Linux je pense qu'il faut mieux qu'on s'oriente vers Skype (qui lui marche très bien sous Linux et Windows) en attendant qu'Ekiga soit plus opérationnel pour tous.

1. Arvernes (Francois): pseudo sous Skype : "isle85" ou "iotaceti" ou "arvernes43".
2. Il y a de la place, alors n'hésitez pas à vous équiper et à aider. Merci.

Si vous ne voyez aucun des pseudos ci-dessus, n'hésitez pas à nous mettre un message pour qu'on fixe ensemble un moment où l'on puisse se retrouver par webcams interposées.
